Marching Mountaineers

At 285 members strong, the Appalachian State University Marching Mountaineers proudly provides visual entertainment and musical “Mountaineer Pride” to the Appalachian fanbase during all home football games, select away games, and, fortunately for us, right here on the APPlause! Series. Under the direction of Dr. Jason Gardner, the Marching Mountaineers are recognized as “North Carolina’s Band of Distinction.” Experience the unique band formations and stunning color guard in this impressive performance!

ABOUT MARCHING MOUNTAINEERS
The Marching Mountaineers is part of the Hayes School of Music and is composed of students who are studying over 70 degree programs across campus. There is a place for anyone in the band who loves music and supporting AppState athletics!
Named for Mariam Cannon Hayes, the Hayes School of Music enrolls more than 475 students pursuing careers in the following fields: Music Education, Music Performance, Music Therapy, Sacred Music, Composition and Theory, Music Industry Studies, Jazz Studies, Graduate Music Studies. These programs are supported by more than 50 faculty, numerous performance ensembles, and modern academic and performance facilities.
Every season, affordable music, dance, film, and theatre events are offered to students and their teachers from K-12 classrooms across the region.
